Happy Birthday

I hope you had a blessed Easter Day.  Mine was wonderful.  I am truly blessed in many ways indeed.

Last week my hubby had a birthday.  Here’s what I gave him for his birthday.

What’s that you say?  A counter top?  What kind of a gift is that?  Ah, but this is not just any old counter top.  This is a clean counter top.

If you think that’s an odd birthday gift, take a look at these photos (I can’t believe I’m sharing these pictures, but here goes).

I reminded Hubby that his birthday is over, and there’s no guarantee the counter top will remain this clear again Thankfully, he's a good sport and he supports my love of creating soap.

How are your counters?  Does anyone else end up with creative chaos on your counter?

Do you have any tips or tricks I can use to help me keep the counters clear of clutter?

Thanks for reading!

  4. Hahaha! Uh, yes. I'm with Megan. IF I had any countertop to spare, that is what it would look like. A couple weeks ago I moved all the soap stuff into the basement because it stunk to have to get it all out from 3 different spots and then put it all away right away. There are a few people in this household that actually expected FOOD to come out of the kitchen. The nerve.. Now I can make as big a mess as I want and not worry about where the soap is going to sleep at or where to pile the dirties when I actually need to make dinner. I just leave the mess and go upstairs! All things considered, I think you gave an amazing gift!:-)

    1. Carol - How nice to have a dedicated place to keep your soap mess - uh, I mean necessities. It's hard to have to fectch this and that from here and there. Providing meals from the kitchen is setting the bar pretty high :-) I am actually enjoying the clean counter very much, too, even though the gift was for Hubby. Thanks so much for your comments. I always enjoy them. We really must meet one of these days.

  5. Ever since I put the stuff in my basement, my kitchen has looked soo nice-I love it! My basement on the other hand.... well, actually, I had to clear out a ton of stuff (to Goodwill and Stuff) that I had been meaning to get to so it too is pretty decent. :-)
How about meeting for lunch sometime?

    1. Janet - We DID meet for lunch. We talked soap well into the afternoon. It was so much fun! We are working on getting together again. What is it about the Lazy Days of Summer that makes summer seem so busy and fly by so fast?
